FAQ: Sell my Products Other Places

If I sell products at an approved Alberta Farmers’ Market, does that also mean I can sell my products other places?

The only place that home-produced foods can be sold is at Alberta approved farmers’ markets. The actual exchange of the product itself must take place at the market and can not be made from home. Orders can be placed but pick up must be at the market. The food permit that is granted to the market itself is what allows for vendors to sell produced food at that venue. If a vendor wants to take orders that are picked up other than at the market, he must get his own food permit and be producing in a commercial kitchen which will allow him to sell anywhere.
